We are continuously working to maintain and improve the water system. Some of the major projects we are currently working on involve the installation of new, or the replacement of existing, equipment and facilities needed to provide safe, reliable water service.
Aquarion Water Company & Eversource – New Canaan Road - Route 106 Update March 21, 2025
Starting on March 24th, Aquarion crews will be working at the intersection of New Canaan Road (Rt 106) and Old Boston Road. Work at this intersection will take approximately 3 weeks.
Route 106 will be closed to thru traffic between Old Boston Rd and Old Kings Highway. Access to the detour route will be maintained by allowing one lane of alternating traffic through the intersection at a time to get onto Old Boston Rd. Please follow the detour signs (refer to the attached map).
Work hours will be from approximately 7 am to 5:30 pm (M-F). For the safety of vehicles and construction workers, traffic control will be in place to assist with traffic. Please follow their direction. Consider using alternate routes.
The bridge on Route 106 at the Wilton/New Canaan Town line will be open while crews are working at the above location.
All bus stops will remain at their current locations. Emergency vehicles will be granted immediate access through the work area.
For project updates and for continued work on Route 106 by Aquarion/Eversource for the remainder of 2025, refer to the Aquarion link. (Route 106 New Canaan Road Project Update)
