Oct 18, 2023 by Peter Fazekas Connecticut

Construction of pump station projects scheduled to start October 23, 2023

NEW MILFORD, CONN. – October 18, 2023 – Aquarion Water Company is performing essential work on water infrastructure in New Milford necessary to ensure continued system reliability and water quality.

The construction of two new pump stations located at 103 Prospect Hill Road (Route 67) and 39 Dorwin Hill Road in New Milford is scheduled to start on October 23, 2023.  The new pump stations, in conjunction with a water main extension project, will connect Aquarion’s New Milford Regional System to the Pleasant View System, improving both the volume and quality of water available to Pleasant View System customers.  The projects are expected to be fully operational by fall 2024.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as we complete these important projects,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning.  “We will work closely with our customers, neighbors, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions during construction.”

Due to construction, residences and businesses may experience minor traffic delays and possible detours during normal working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Portland-based Snyder Civil Construction, LLC. will be serving as the general contractor for the pump station projects; Tolland-based Genovesi Construction, LLC will construct the water main extension.
