Water Infrastructure Work to Begin in Greenwich

Feb 28, 2023 by Peter Fazekas Connecticut

Pressure-reducing facility project scheduled to start March 13, 2023

GREENWICH, CONN. – February 27, 2023 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Greenwich necessary to ensure continued system reliability.

On March 13, 2023, construction of a pressure-reducing facility project is scheduled to begin within the town right-of-way near the intersection of Stanwich Road and Dublin Hill Road in Greenwich.  The project is designed to correct low pressure in the distribution system that typically occurs during the summer high demand season.  This infrastructure upgrade is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water and service.  The project is expected to be completed by the end of March 2023.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning.  “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”

Due to construction, residences and businesses should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during normal working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Danbury-based David Tinker Excavating, Inc. will be serving as the general contractor for the project.
