Pump station replacement project scheduled to start April 29, 2022

STAMFORD, CONN. – April 25, 2022 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Stamford necessary to ensure continued system reliability.

On April 29, a pump station replacement project is scheduled to begin at the corner of Halliwell Drive and Sycamore Terrace in Stamford.  The project is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water and service.  The infrastructure upgrades will also help to maintain system pressure and fire flow capacity in Stamford.  The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.

“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning.  “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and city officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”

Normal working hours during construction will be Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.   The project is not expected to impact local traffic.  Kovacs Construction Corporation will be serving as the general contractor for the pump station replacement project.
