Aquarion Sells Additional Property to Greenwich Land Trust

Dec 2, 2021 by Peter Fazekas Connecticut

GREENWICH, CONN. – December 2, 2021 – Aquarion Water Company announced today that the Company sold an additional eight acres of Company-owned land located on Lake Avenue in Greenwich, Connecticut to the Greenwich Land Trust (GLT).

The sale follows a January 2020 transaction in which Aquarion sold 72.27 acres of land to the GLT and the Town of Greenwich.  The total 80+ acres of land sold by Aquarion to the GLT is not located within an aquifer protection area or any public water supply watershed and is not needed by the Company to provide water service.

“We are very excited to once again partner with the Greenwich Land Trust to support their mission of preserving open space,” said Aquarion President Donald Morrissey.  “The additional acreage will be a resource that the Land Trust can preserve for future generations.”

“Greenwich Land Trust is extremely grateful to have the opportunity to conserve, protect and care for this beautiful property in perpetuity, ” said Will Kies, GLT’s Executive Director.  “This addition to our Converse Brook Preserve will provide safe public access to the Preserve while conserving important upland habitats.”
