GREENWICH, CONN. – July 1, 2020 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on infrastructure necessary to ensure continued system reliability. A water main installation project is scheduled to begin July 13 on Laddins Rock Road and is expected to be completed by mid-August. An additional water main installation on East Putnam Avenue and the intersection of East Putnam Avenue and Laddins Rock Road is scheduled to resume in October and will be completed by the end of November. These water main installations are integral to the new Havemeyer Lane Pump Station that is currently being constructed on Laddins Rock Road.
The project includes installation of approximately 1,200 feet of 24-inch water main and is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system capacity and reliability, and to ensure delivery of the highest quality water to its customers.
“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience during this project,” said Michael Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Utility Programs. “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”
Due to construction, customers should expect minor traffic delays and detours during the working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the Laddins Rock Road water main installation, the northbound lane will remain open for one-way traffic, but the southbound lane will be closed and detour signs will be posted to reroute traffic around the closed section of Laddins Rock Road. Norwalk, CT-based M. Rondano Construction will be serving as the contractor for the water main replacement project.
