System improvements, upgrades and projects

We are continuously working to maintain and improve the water system.  Some of the major projects we are currently working on involve the installation of new, or the replacement of existing, equipment and facilities needed to provide safe, reliable water service.

Infrastructure Projects

Main Replacement in Wilton, CT: New Canaan Rd, Trails End Rd, and Old Kings Hwy

We will be replacing water main beginning July 7th, 2026. Work for the New Canaan Rd area will begin with removal of asphalt on July 9th. This will be followed by the Trails End Rd and Old Kings Hwy area which will begin on July 20th. Work is expected to be completed by August 2026. Please follow the detour route shown on the attached sheet during construction hours. The detour route consists of Old Boston Road and Old Kings Highway. Normal Construction hours will be from 7am to 5:30pm. However, to encourage a timelier completion of the project in our neighborhoods, construction hours may be adjusted from 7am-5:30pm to 7am-7pm. In special circumstances Saturday work may be required.

Residents living in project area above please allow extra time to enter/exit the respective work zones and, please coordinate with traffic control for access to your property. Homeowners living within the area of active construction zone (i.e., disturbed roadway) can go either direction when exiting their driveways. Signage indicating the direction of travel will be provided for those homeowners within the detour but not within the disturbed roadway (active construction zone). The flaggers and officers have been instructed to let through delivery vehicles that are going to homes within the detour; all other deliveries must use the detours. All bus stops will remain at their current locations. Emergency vehicles will be granted immediate access through the work area.
